My commission piece for friends/neighbors is almost complete! My client came to visit last night and approved the work :) Just a few finishing touches to add and then I can release this out to the world.
Finishing touches include deckling the edges, a few highlights made with ink and gel pen, my signature (of course), and then varnish. I'm so excited to see how this will look framed! Current thoughts are to put it in a black floating frame which will really make the spring colors pop. I agree and you can see the story behind this commissioned piece here. Now the three little birds previously mentioned a post are bathing in their second coat of varnish and should be ready to mount/mat in a couple of days. And then those as well can be released into the world. I continue tweaking my website here and there, which is a never ending job that I love. I organized all of my notes from several scraps/slips of paper and post-it notes onto other pieces of paper but now(!) they are categorized so I can pick a few to work on as time allows. GO ME! It may not seem an exciting task for most, but for me it's a like a breath of fresh air, and gives me some much needed space on my desk. whew. Until later, stay fresh. XO - Melissa
